According to the Spanish Ministry of Development (Fomento), foreign buyers in Spain increased by 13% year-on-year to reach 21,096 transactions in the first quarter of 2017.

What Spanish provinces attract more international buyers ?

Quite clearly, in terms of share of the market, foreign buyers take the lead in Canarias, Balearic Islands as well as Alicante and Malaga province. Yet in terms of number of transactions, Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid provinces are also very strong as you can see below :

Quite clearly, figures are progressing and international buyers represent about 20% of the real estate transactions in Spain nationwide. While in regions such as Alicante, that proportion reaches over 50%, it’s clear that it’s a necessity for real estate agencies to address this market by listing globally their properties.
