About Century 21 Spain

Century 21 Spain is a franchise network strong of 1.030 real estate agents. In 2017, it completed 5.414 real estate transactions, 22 % more than in 2016, with an average purchase price of 199.598 euros.
Currently present in Spain with 72 offices across the country, Century 21 Spain plans to expand to over 400 offices and 8.000 to 10.000 agents in the coming years (see here for more details).

Foreigners buy one out of six properties sold in Spain

Foreign buyers purchased over 61,000 Spanish properties in 2017 (+14% compared to 2016). This represented more than 13% of all real estate transactions in Spain, or one in six buyers. What’s even more interesting is the following two key elements:

1. International buyers in Spain is a growing market

Since 2011, foreign buyers just kept buying more and more, year after year. In 5 years, the number of transactions realized by foreign buyers in Spain has more than doubled!

2. Foreign buyers in Spain come from over 50 countries

International buyers in Spain don’t come from 1 country. They simply come from everywhere, from more than 50 countries. The best way to visualize this is by looking at this graph below. What’s the leading nationality? The biggest group is not the British (15%), nor the French (8.6%) or the Germans (7.8%). It is not the Belgians (6.4%) nor the Swedes (6.4%) or the Italians (5.8%), and definitely not yet the Chinese (4.4%) or the Russians (2.9%). It’s the complex “Other Countries”, which is a mix of all other nationalities that are not making a big portion of the market alone, but that together represent almost 1 in 2 foreign buyer in Spain. It’s the Swiss, the Scandinavians, the Eastern-Europeans and the North-Americans, and many others.

What our collaboration will bring to the 1.030 agents of Century 21 Spain

With this partnership, we plan to help Century 21 agents in several ways:

1. Gain more mandates / secure more listings

At ListGlobally, we are aware that the first job of any real estate agent is to secure listings. Therefore, we will create for Century 21 agents simple marketing documents, to help them present their international marketing strategy to property owners, prospect potential vendors using that tool and gaining their confidence.

2. Get more contacts with foreigners

More importantly, we will market their properties (close to 5.000 listings) on a network of over 100 property portals, in over 60 countries (see here for details). The strategy is simple: translate and publish Spanish properties on leading property portals abroad, to maximize the international reach of each listing. As an example, French buyers do not necessarily know of the leading Spanish portals such as Fotocasa.es or Habitaclia, and by doing searches on Google will more likely stumble upon Immostreet.com or Arkadia, both part of the ListGlobally network. This is why ListGlobally partners with so many portals, to create a long-tail strategy which will maximize the chances of an agent to get in touch with an international buyer.
